What is Sonlight?

SonLight may be described succinctly as follows:

We are a warm and friendly group of people who desire, with God's help, to live holy lives that bring honor and glory to Him. We look to the Bible as our primary source for direction in our worship and our lifestyles. We are life-centered in our teaching and sensitive to the needs and concerns of others. We give people opportunities to put their faith in to action through various avenues of service.

We laugh and cry together, rejoice and grieve together, grow together, and walk in faith together. We love to fellowship, play and spend time with one another.  We are honored to take our place among the many who are called Christians.  We aim to be a family for all who love Jesus, the Nazarene and we want you to know there is a place for you at SonLight Church of the Nazarene!

Why SonLight?

SonLight...it's a name.  Just a name, but not just any name - it's a name that was chosen by a group of people who were setting out on a journey they felt God wanted them to take - a journey to minister to a community in need of a church where Holiness would be preached and people would reach out in love.  SonLight is a name intended to point the way to God's Son, the Light of the pathway to Eternal Life.

SonLight is the name of a group of peole who are a part of the Church of the Nazarene because they beleive in its core values of Biblical Christianity, Holiness and Missions.  Because of these values, the people of SonLight have a goal of living as Jesus directed us to live, of continuously strengthening our relationship with Him til His will directs our lives, of partnering with Him in reaching out in Love and Peace in our homes, our community and into the most remote corners of the world.

Sonlight...it's a good name.

SonLight may be described theologically as follows:

Holiness in doctrine - Wesleyan in theology - Orthodox* in teaching - Evangelical in mission - Ecumenical in thought

*Orthodox - In accord with the generally accepted creeds of the Christian Church, and in accord with the ethical and moral principles historically understood as taught by Scripture and the Church.
